Recently, my family and I took a trip up to the Lake District to have a few days away in a beautiful log cabin out in the sticks.
We spent the few days outside, occupying ourselves with simple pleasures with a happy mutt at our side, getting muddy on bike trails, or getting drizzled on out on the lake whilst trying our hand at fly fishing (very unsuccessfully) and trying to avoid the psychotic swan, apparently famed for his hatred of dogs. We spent one morning clay pigeon shooting, which was mostly a hilarious display of terrible aim and general incompetency (followed by some ridiculous posing afterwards).
The evenings were spent wrapped up on the balcony overlooking the lake, hot drink in hand, playing cards and chatting, or curled up with a book in the cabin.
